Pia started taking pictures as a child and got her first analog SLR camera as a gift for her photography training when she was 13 years old. With this camera, she also completed the first three semesters of her education before she switched to a digital camera.

"In retrospect, that was a mistake. Only when I went back to my Nikon FE two years ago and returned to analog film, I found my connection to photography again."

In the craft of analog photography Pia finds not only deceleration but also room for experiments and she consciously takes her time for every single photo. Between pressing the shutter release and making the scans, she always finds new ways to transform landscapes and portraits into surreal and unique photographs.

"Analogue photography is a great way to establish your own style or find it again. The limited number of pictures on film makes you more decisive in the composition of your pictures and gives you more confidence in your own work."

Pia placed our LomoChrome Metropolis in her Nikon FE and took it with her 50mm, 1:1.4 Nikkor lens on a hike through nature. She was surprised by the results but fell in love with the unexpectedly warm greens.

"The greens get a slight golden shimmer, and the desaturation gives a calm, melancholic feeling. For me, the film offers a great change to the rather psychedelic, excited LomoChrome Purple."

Pia exposed the LomoChrome Metropolis with ISO 100 and ISO 400 and was especially pleased that the look of the film did not depend on the weather.

"The film produces the same earthy warm colors both in rainy weather and in full sun. Even on diffuse, grey foggy days, the film brings out the color. A good choice for shoots on rainy days, as it can reverse the grey weather to a mystical color spectrum."

It was no coincidence that the series was created in nature. Pia wanted to test a contrast to the mostly urban subjects that are usually captured with the LomoChrome Metropolis and we have to admit The results are enchanting!

"Even the name of the film makes you think more of urban subjects, but I'd like to give the film more scope and also recommend it to everyone whose photographic work is more nature-oriented!"
