Hi, and welcome to Lomography Magazine! Can you introduce yourself to the Lomography community? Please tell us about yourself and what you do.

Hello, I'm Dee from Crazy Camera Store. We call ourselves camera-on-demand services, the customer just tells us what they want. What kind of photography, for shooting or collecting. We can find all of the cameras for you. Actually, we can even build it for you!

What’s the story behind your store? How did it all start?

My store was established around 2010. It started when I realized that I had so many cameras and there was no place to store them all. So I started selling them on the web. Then I created a Facebook page for it. Finally, I opened the store. (Truly Kingdom) Around 2014, my partner and I discussed why Thailand doesn't have any camera stores that are new and fun for people who have the same lifestyle as us. There are only vintage stores that look very old-style. Customers just walk into the store, point out the item that they want, and take it out. At that time, the Crazy Camera Store was born – a small store in half a container. It grew to become the store it is today.

What’s your favorite part of your job?

I like to talk with customers. I ask about what they need, offer anything that they didn't expect to use, find something to create the work in their mind, or create equipment for them that they cannot immediately buy with money. The look in the eyes of customers when they talk to me after using it – that's the reward.

What’s the hardest part about it?

Human desires are endless!

Who or what inspires you?

My inspiration is my desire to find rare cameras according to customer needs, or an illusory lens that you wouldn't expect to find except in a museum.

Do you have any future plans for the store or projects you’re working on that you can tell us about?

My store is a partner with Escura Camera. We make equipment and cameras that work with Instax film. Now we are developing the next generation of cameras that work with Instax film!

What do you love most about living and working in Bangkok? Do you have any favorite spots for photography in the city?

I was born here. I was working abroad until I discovered that Bangkok is where you can find everything you need. Whether it's delicious food, good views, or a traditional lifestyle. The traffic may be a bit worse but in comparison, I think it's worth living here.

If I had to recommend one place in Bangkok for you guys to take photos, you could try doing photo walks around Wongwian Yai. You will be able to find delicious food every 50 meters. Plus, there's a good street view for you to snap. You will not be bored at all.

I would like to use this opportunity to thanks all the Lomographers in Thailand, specially some of my work colleagues, for reawakening in me the taste for analog photography. In my country the digital era wiped out most film labs, only a few private ones are available to professionals. But here in Thailand is a paradise for analogue lovers, here there are still many laboratories and shops open and it is very easy to find films at affordable prices or process negatives. I couldn't resist bringing my dad's old camera here and starting shooting films again.
