@cosmoduck Explores Georgia with LomoChrome Purple Film

2

The last time we visited Georgia we were brought to the "Waters of Immortality" in the spa town of Tskaltubo by @iamsosha. Shot with LomoChrome Purple she was able to capture the nostalgic beauty of this town once overflowing with tourists from across Europe.

Today we have another beautiful album to share with you, again shot in Georgia with LomoChrome Purple, and with the Lomo LC-A. Longtime Lomographer @cosmoduck shows us snaps from different parts of her country highlighting the people and scenery.

Taking us with her to three locations, @cosmoduck shows us Tbilisi, Batumi, and Shekvetili. Tbilisi is the enchanting capital of Georgia where culture can truly be seen throughout the streets of the city. Inhabited for many centuries, it blends Western Asian, Middle Eastern, and European cultures making the city truly unique. Besides the historical buildings, music and arts thrive within the city as it is a popular destination for artists to visit with many concert halls catering both to local and international acts.

The next city she takes us to is Batumi which is the 2nd biggest city located in the Autonomous Republic of Adjara in southwestern Georgia. Because of its location by the Black Sea, Batsumi is one of the go-to places for Georgians taking a vacation and in recent years has started to become a more popular spot for European tourists. Its main attractions of the city are its beach, nightlife, and botanical gardens. Beyond the city, the region has a rich biodiversity and national parks which makes it an ideal place to stay if you want to go hiking in the countryside.

Lastly, she shows us Shekvetili, also located by the Black Sea but north of Batsumi. Another famous resort town, it has a mix of beaches where you can lay under the sun but also for those looking for adventure, with Tsitsinatela a famous amusement park, and a mix of national parks and reserves to see nature and wildlife.

@Cosmoduck's use of LomoChrome Purple gives these photos a warm hug and a sprinkle of nostalgia. Each photo seems as though it could have been taken decades ago, due to how the film interacts with the light, especially those pictures shot under the sun. In other pictures, you can see how the film reacts to lower light situations, giving more of a dark and moody vibe. Using this film to showcase Georgia brings forth the magical and enchanting qualities of these locations and how thousands of years of history have culminated in these cities.

I just finished a roll of Lomochrome Purple shot with my Holga 120N. For me personally I think I should have gone with simpler compositions. I shot the entire roll at a park and I have a heck of a lot of pink trees. It was definitely an excellent learning experience though. If I ever get my zone focusing locked in I’ll give it another go.
