Polaroid TZ Artistic (Instant, 100 iso) User-Review

9

Made from expired materials but giving stunning colors and feeling. This 125 ISO wonder is quite possibly the most Lomographic of all instant films.

As we all know the production of original Polaroid materials stopped back in 2008 and all Polaroid enthusiasts wept at the thought that this totally original and unique format was lost to the fists of time for good.

Happily, integral instant film will be heading back to us this year and I thought I would review my personal favourite Pola film the TZ Artistic.

This film is made from the old and expired Time Zero chemicals and gives your images a very different look than what the typical 600 Polaroid film would. It’s streaky, old and makes your images look like they popped out of the 60’s and 70’s right in front of your eyes.

Images are given a dream like quality that just gives a feeling of nostalgia and works wonders on a bright, sunny day.

You can get this film from Polapremium.com or on eBay still but I’m not sure for how long. It’s made for the SX-70 cameras and I urge everyone who owns one but who hasn’t tried this awesome film to give it a shot before it’s gone for good!

Awesome shots. I just picked up an SX-70 with sonar autofocus and a pack of SX-70 film, can't wait to try them out.

@stouf Yeah the Impossible Project is releasing its new integral instant film sometime this month. I heard it's going to be black and white SX-70 and 600 films, then color over the summer and then black and white and color Spectra film by fall.

You should be okay, the SX-70 is pretty rugged (but don't go throwing it around! haha).

I just got a couple of packages and mine seem to be a bit more "expired" than yours (which is no wonder given the fact that it's been 2 years since you published this) and they yield quite nice effects :)
