Five of the Hottest Analogue Photography Podcasts to Listen to

2

What could be a better companion while working on your photos than to listen to people talking about photography? What we love about these podcasts is that they are fun and light to listen to when you are commuting or simply having a chill day at home, perhaps even in your darkroom.

They take the form of colloquial talks, just like the ones you have for hours with your photography buddies. The preferred format is one that involves interviews with other fellow photographers, photography stores, or industry people. It is fascinating to get to know some personal stories from folks that are kind enough to open a window into their process and experiences.

What they all have in common is the sense of coming together as a community and sharing the love and passion for the craft that helps to keep analogue photography alive. Here is a list of some of our favorite photography podcasts:

Analogue Talk

Since 2017 the hosts Chris and Tim have welcomed on their purely analogue podcast a vast number of photographers, lab experts, and analogue people of any kind. Here you can find lots of inside knowledge about photography, gear, current trends, and business insider tricks and tips.

The energy of this duo transcends the limits of your headphones and you immediately feel involved in the conversation with them. Fun and entertaining, you can't get enough of them.

Bokeh & Beyond Photography

This young podcast, Bokeh & Beyond Photography has fast became one of our favorites, as it offers a good mix of interviews, talks, and meaningful discussion about photography in general. Whether it's about educational aspects or how to conduct a photographic practice, Tony and Kristina always have a pleasant dialogue and you leave each episode feeling revived.

They are fairly new to the podcast scene but this duo from Australia is doing a great job delivering entertaining yet insightful content.

Mamiyamigos

Also new in the podcast scene, is Mamiyamigos, conducted by two veterans of YouTube that many of you probably know: Caleb Knueven from Bad Flashes and Jason Kummerfeldt from Grainy Days.

That unmistakable California flair is backed by a charismatic presence in front of a camera and talent behind it. If you follow them on YouTube, you know that this magnetic assemblage is one of the most fun pairings you can find. We expect this podcast to soon be a favorite of the analogue community.

Sunny 16

Each episode of this podcast is tailored either around a topic or a guest. Their friendly setting allows the participant to be at ease and open during their chats. There is a diverse range of guests that have appeared on Sunny 16, and it explores the amazing endless subjects of photography.

Full of insightful pieces of information, you can explore the vast archive of this long lasting podcast, which has been on air since 2018. Each episode is a long format that lasts about one hour each.

Lucy Lumen's Podcast Adventure

Based in Australia, Lucy is a self taught photographer. Her conversations are fun and honest, as she hosts many different guests to cover a variety of content. Her voice emanates sunny vibes from the very opening lines of Lucy Lumen's podcast adventure.

That's how we feel when listening to Lucy, as we pleasantly listen to her sparkling and entertaining interviews; just like an adventure.
