Hello Laurence, so glad to have you on the Magazine again! What have you been doing since you last spoke to us about your travel photos taken with the Lomography Color Negative 400 ISO?

Hello again. I went to Spain for a good month with a few cameras, with the only goal to have good holidays, to let myself be carried away by the moments and the people I'll meet. I made a lot of images, including a few series. Above all, I really wanted to test the Analogue Aqua, the new little friend of my film collection.

How was your experience with the Simple Use Analogue Aqua?

I laughed a lot the first time I used it. My difficulty in managing distances and movements (mine and my models) underwater caused great laughter. After two or three triggers, it became easier and I knew there would be happy mistakes before I had better control of the animal. Sometimes I would repeat the movement once or twice before shooting, other times it was totally instantaneous. I really like the results.

You already know our Lomography Color Negative 400 ISO film very well. Were you happy to use it again in the Simple Use ?

The Color Negative 400 ISO is really nice for this exercise. The water element gives something different to the management of light gives surprising results. Colors range from vibrant and saturated to more "faded". I really like the result.

Have you ever taken pictures underwater before? What do you have to do differently?

I already took pictures with a digital camera in a pool and in the sea and I wanted to find a film camera to repeat the experience. I shot a first film to see the result, to test the framing. Then it became more natural. Of course, taking pictures with film requires more concentration and precision, and it is impossible to take two or three shots at a time underwater as with a digital camera, but the exercise is very stimulating.

Do you have any advice to share for using the Simple Use Analogue Aqua ?

You need a mask to frame well, especially in the sea as salt quickly burns the eyes. I rinsed the case with clear water after seawater as a precaution. I always moved it in a microfiber cloth to avoid scratches on the plastic. It's my manic side, I admit. The mobile viewfinder is very practical, I used it when I didn't have a mask to dive.

How does this year look for you?

The begining of the year has started with great projects in the weeks to come, and I have already done a few shoots. I'm also going to do a print or two of my aquatic images and get back on the road as soon as possible.
