Singapore Summer Getaway: Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve

5

Nobody to go with that tan? Not inspired by the Great Singapore Sale? Want a getaway but everybody seems to have the same place in mind? Then don’t despair! I’ve got the perfect place for you!

Away from the usual hustle and bustle of city life is Singapore’s own (itsy-bitsy) nature wetland reserve. Pack a cam, few rolls of film and a bottle of water. Here we go!

Located off Kranji, this ecological spot was discovered by avid birdwatchers in 1986 and has since become ASEAN’s Heritage Park in 2003.

Easily reached by driving, commuting or hitching an express ride, the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve is a great place for nature hiking, a little sight seeing, a little discovering and of course, lots of nature photography!

While there are lots of foliage amongst the trails, you should keep those eyes peeled for sneaky critters posing for a shot! Having a telephoto lens is advisable to get those close-ups.

Choice of film? Anything works fine, even B&W! So head on down and work yourself a sweat snapping away but stay hydrated. Adios LomoAmigos!

@hervinsyah @herbert-4 Thanks for liking the article guys. Singapore isn't really known for its nature reserves, even to the locals. Do check it out if you're ever in Singapore. And don't forget to bring those cameras along. Peace ;)
