Acting Meraki

As we ring in a new year, we encourage you to look inward for things that make us act with "meraki."

Meraki, as NPR defines it, "is a word that modern Greeks often use to describe doing something with soul, creativity, or love. — when you put 'something of yourself' into what you're doing, whatever it may be."

It's when you care for a loved one when they are sick or raising a child with much pride and devotion. Meraki also shows on the way you hold a paintbrush, carefully gauging each brushstroke. On the time you take preparing a scrumptious meal to perfection. On how you carefully capture a portrait of people that matters.

For this LomoMission, reflect on these things that you do passionately and selflessly without expecting anything in return. Because when we act with meraki, it's doing something with all our heart and soul that truly counts.

Showcase the most introspective snapshots inspired by the word meraki and get a chance to win a 10% discount code for our Online Shop! Each participant can enter up to 10 photographs shot on film. This competition will run until February 1, 2022. Good luck!
